Overview

SmartTab is a browser extension for tab management. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Data We Access

SmartTab accesses the following browser data to provide its features:

• Tab information (URLs, titles, favicons) — to display, search, group, and manage your tabs
• Top sites — to show your most visited sites as quick-dial shortcuts

Data Storage

All your data (spaces, sessions, notes, settings, reading list) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage. We do not have access to this data, and it never leaves your device except when you explicitly use AI features.

AI Features (Pro)

When you use AI-powered features (AI Search, AI Summarize, AI Rename), the following data is sent to our secure API server:

• Tab titles and URLs (not page content)
• Your search query (for AI Search)

This data is:

• Sent over encrypted HTTPS connections
• Processed by OpenAI's API to generate responses
• Not stored, logged, or retained by our server
• Not used for training AI models
• Not shared with any other third parties

Payments

Pro subscriptions are processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. We do not have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, etc.). Please refer to their respective privacy policies for payment data handling.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, address)
• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts
• We do not serve advertisements
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data. You can also export/import your data at any time from the Settings page.

Your Rights

You can at any time:

• Export all your data (Settings → Export)
• Delete all your data by uninstalling the extension
• Disable AI features to prevent any data from being sent to external servers

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
